The Achemenids
Qom, the youngest of Persia's weaving cities, took up the oldest subject of all: the Achaemenid empire. Persepolis reliefs — processions, standard-bearers, lions — re-drawn in silk at twelve hundred knots to the square inch, around a golden rosette medallion.
