The 24K Tree of Life Herekeh
The Ottoman court's taste for woven gold survives in this Hereke Tree of Life: silk knotted with gilt-metal thread, birds in the branches, deer and hares at the roots. Metal-thread weaving is Hereke's oldest luxury — the technique its founders borrowed from the palace ateliers of Istanbul.
