Queen of Tehran
A singularly rare Tehran workshop piece of the nineteenth century — five years on the loom at a density of 650 knots to the square inch. Tehran wove far less than Kashan or Isfahan, and surviving carpets of this order are correspondingly scarce. The field is a study in restraint: warm beige lit with saffron yellow.
